Why a fellowship-trained dermatosurgeon matters
Skin surgery sits at the intersection of medical safety and cosmetic outcome — knowing what a lesion is, removing it correctly, and leaving the best possible result. Dr. Soans is fellowship-trained in dermatosurgery (FRGUHS, BMCRI), with reconstructive experience following skin cancer surgery.
Frequently asked questions
Does mole removal leave a scar?
Every skin procedure leaves some mark, but dermatosurgical technique aims to make it as inconspicuous as possible — placement, method and aftercare are all chosen with the cosmetic result in mind.
Can keloids be treated?
Yes — with injections, surgical approaches or combinations selected to shrink the keloid while reducing the risk of it re-forming. Keloid care is individualised and often staged.
Is vitiligo surgery possible?
In selected cases — grafting procedures can help stable vitiligo patches, after evaluation of the type, extent and stability of the disease. Not every case is suitable, and honest assessment comes first.
Are these procedures painful?
Most are performed under local anaesthesia in the clinic and are well tolerated, with quick recovery for the majority of procedures.
